Silicone render

The render that cleans itself in the rain.

Silicone render is through-coloured, flexible and water-repellent, so rain beads off and takes the dirt with it. It's the finish we recommend for most homes.

Overview

Silicone render is a thin-coat system laid over a reinforced basecoat. The silicone resin repels water at the surface but lets moisture vapour out of the wall, so the brickwork underneath stays dry and healthy.

The colour runs all the way through, so there's no painting, and small knocks don't show. It's flexible enough to ride out the small movements every house makes, which is why it resists the hairline cracks you see on older cement renders.

  • Self-cleaning surface

Water beads and rolls off, carrying dirt and algae spores with it.

  • No painting, ever

Colour runs right through the render. Choose from hundreds of shades.

  • Flexible and crack-resistant

Moves with the building instead of fighting it.

  • Breathable

Keeps rain out while letting the wall dry out, which protects the brick.

Questions

About silicone render.

All FAQs
How long does silicone render last?

Applied properly over good preparation, you can expect it to look good for 20–30 years with very little maintenance.

Can it go over pebbledash?

Often, yes. If the pebbledash is sound we can level it with a basecoat and finish over the top. If it's blowing or hollow, it comes off first.

What weather do you need?

Dry and above about 5°C, with no frost overnight. We plan the topcoat days around the forecast.
